Welcome to Wrentham

Joining a Team - Becoming a CFR

Help maintain and provide a life-saving service in the Wrentham & surrounding villages.

“Would you like to become a Community Responder?”

Please read on to find out more!

A Community First Responder must:Be physically fit

Be aged between 18 - 70

Agree to a Disclosure & Barring check DBS  (this was formerly known as a criminal records bureau disclosure or CRB check)

Have a full driving licence and use of a car

Have a sympathetic and caring nature

Agree to undertake training provided by the ambulance service.

Joining the Team

Initially you’ll have an informal interview with Group Co-ordinator.

Followed by an invitation to attend local training evenings on a monthly basis.

Now complete an Application Form and hand this to your Group Co-ordinator, to be forwarded to the East of England Ambulance Service (EEAS).

Once the application procedure is complete you will be offered a place on a CFR Foundation Course.

Upon successful completion of the Foundation Course you will be able to join a local team for support, on-going training and qualified to attend emergencies.

This process should take 4-6 months, but depends on factors outside our control such as the speed of reply of referees and the availability for suitable dates for all parties for formal interview and the Foundation Course.

EEAS also has many other schemes running throughout East Anglia if you live outside the catchment area for the Wrentham.
